Luxury Italian Villa Rentals & Sales

Testimonials

Thank you Gerardo for all your help and advice on restaurants and places to visit in and around Contursi, it allowed us to experience rural Italy at its very best. The farmhouse was very spacious and comfortable and in beautiful surroundings and we found that all the local people were very friendly and welcoming even with our lack of Italian. Your visitors guide booklet was very informative. and we can highly recommend O Panuozzo Caliendo for delicious pizzas and we also had a wonderful evening at Agriturismo Parisi, the food was plentiful and delicious with a very warm welcome from the owners. During our stay in Contursi we experienced the two day Pear of India festival in the Piazza, even though we were probably the only foreigners there we felt completely at home and enjoyed trying the local produce on offer.

We would like to thank yourself and Orazio for all your help during our stay.

Gina and Mick Allingham, September 2008

Thank you for sorting out the arrangements for the Villa Degli Ulivi. We had a fantastic time there in the peace of the hills and explored lots of the beautiful area in Contursi and its surroundings. We also made friends of the dogs across the road, who we named Pickle & Chutney, and the three cats! The pizzas were delicious too and we dined like kings at the Agriturismo Parisi. Please thank Orazio for all his help – especially letting us into the villa so late at night after the A3 was closed and we had to divert through the towns.

We had a great time and have kept the brochure you produced as a memento and to show other people.

Thank you, yes, we had a fantastic time. The Town House was all we expected and the view was fantastic. We had some lovely meals out, everyone was so friendly and helpful. We visited Pompeii and found the coast at Paestum and Amalfi beautiful.

Many thanks for a wonderful taste of real Italy!

Sally Marshall, August 2008

To be honest I had my reservations booking my holidays in rustic Italy with Pisani Properties as you are never sure how the locals would respond to tourists etc and being that we didn’t speak Italian and it was a small village in the hills and not in the usual package holiday resort full of holiday makers.

We found Contursi and the locals fantastic, my family found them both kind and helpful and we had some great evenings at the festivals that took place whilst we were there.

I will go back to Contursi for sure for my holidays! For real my family loved it and for the kids it was their best holiday for sure! ever ...............

Thanks

Kurt Relleen, August 2008

Just to say thank you for the week in your Contursi Terme villa - it is a fantastic location. We were able to visit everything we wanted and make the most of the lovely location and views. Just a shame the weather wasn't better!

Orazio was very helpful and fixed any problems quickly.

Felicity Broom, May 2008

We had a wonderful time at the farmhouse villa, the location was fantastic, and the villa was well equipped.  we enjoyed eating breakfast on that wonderful patio with the splendid views of the valley with a backdrop of mountains.   We made friends with the 2 dogs from across the road,- or should I say that they made friends with us.

We felt that you were exremely helpful and kind, and that your service to us was well beyond the bounds of duty, and on behalf of my sister and her husband  we would like to say "thankyou very much"  Showing us around Contursi, and then showing us where the restaurants were situated was much appreciated, and then to help us get the fresh vegetables!

Jim and I may well come back again. we would like to do a little more walking next time, we love the countryside around there, and the number of wild flowers that were out was really good.  We used the train service quite a lot, but also went out in the hire car.

A big "thankyou" again, Gerardo, and we hope to visit again, sometime.

Joan and Jim Nicholson, May 2008

We had a most enjoyable holiday in the Villa degli Ulivi, and are very grateful that you allowed us to use it for that time.  The villa was comfortable, well appointed and spacious. It's peaceful situation in the countryside made it especially suitable for our friends and their special needs son, Thomas. They were able to relax and be at ease. Local people were very friendly and we did much exploring of the area.

Your agent, Orazio, was very welcoming and took good care of us during the visit.

Kathryn Peace, March 2008

Just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know that we enjoyed staying at your villa during our recent trip to Italy. We had a wonderful vacation, and wish we were still there. The village of Contursi was quite quaint and thought that the festival was terrific. It was really nice to live as the local towns people while we were there.

Thanks for your hospitality and sharing your villa with us. I can now understand why you wish to move back to Italy.

Louise Giacobbo, September 2007

First, let me say that we loved the area. It is very rural and very much off the beaten path which is exactly what we like. The arrangements to meet Orazio at the train station worked beautifully. In fact, we cannot say enough good things about Orazio and his hospitality. It started with the bottle of "Lacryma Christi Del Vesuvio" which awaited us on the kitchen table. It continued with Orazio giving us a tour of the area in his car pointing out spas, restaurants, etc. and included a stop on a mountain top with a panoramic view of the area. When Orazio showed us this beautiful vista and we could sense his pleasure in sharing with us a land that he loves so well. He also brought us fresh figs, fico d'India, his freshly baked bread and his homemade wine. When we couldn't find more bottles of "Lacryma Christi Del Vesuvio", he managed to come up with an additional two bottles for us to bring home. On the day we arrived, when he discovered that we needed to pick up some supplies and the grocery stores were closed, he found the owner of the store and asked that they open up for us...........which they did. You just can't get better assistance than this. Orazio is a jewel and we feel blessed to have met him.

The villa itself was very clean which is a must. What we didn't expect and something I don't remember on the website is that someone came in and cleaned during our stay. If this is part of the weekly stay, I recommend that you include it on your website. We consider it a luxury as there is only one other villa that we stayed in where they cleaned and changed the linens during a week's stay. We think that this is a big bonus. We also loved the yard of the villa with the plum, apple, walnut, olive and fig trees. Plus the bay laurel and the rosemary were available for our cooking adventures. We loved sitting out in the morning for our breakfast while we planned our day and then again in the evening with a glass of wine before we started dinner. We were only able to eat dinner outside once as the temperatures were a little cool in the evening..............but the terrace with the furniture, tables, grill, etc. is wonderful.

You might mention that the villa is in close proximity to a small farm with sheep, goats, cattle, chickens, cats and a dog. We loved this and I took some wonderful pictures of the sheep and goats from the bedroom window. In fact, on your website, a picture of them grazing might for some create that pastoral country setting, while for others it will let them know that livestock is nearby. All the rooms in the villa were spacious and 6 people could easily move around without invading each other's space. The bed we used was comfortable and the linens good. The living area was comfortable and we found all the dishes, pans, utensils that we needed. The washing machine was great.

We really wished that we could have stayed longer as we loved the villa and think it is in a good location. We also think that the area is beautiful and offers important places to visit (like Pompeii and Paestum) as well as 'off the beaten track' places. The autostrada makes the location exceptionally good and it allowed us to explore many areas of Campania. It was also ideal for us because it was very easy for us to continue our trip into southern Italy. Again, we can't say enough good things about Orazio. You are very fortunate to have him there to oversee the properties.

Ms Donna Armer, October 2006

We had a lovely relaxing time, Italy is a very beautiful place. During our stay we went to Pompeii, a Grotto, 3 local spa's and the Island of Capri by hydrofoil from Salerno. We drove to the Amalfi Coast (I'm glad Jay was driving), those windy, narrow roads frightened me, but well worth it, the views were amazing. We spent a few days going to Paestum, tried out various beaches, the kids loved it, clean, sandy and safe beaches with refreshment facilities and also showers too, for a few euro's (what more could you ask for).

The villa in Contursi had the most amazing views and we loved the fact that it was quiet but also close to the town if we needed anything. Contursi Terme is in an excellent position to reach the autostrade which can take you anywhere you require to go. The spiral staircase took a bit of getting used to, we just made sure we hadn't had too much to drink before we climbed it.

The highlight of the holiday for our girls was when they went to purchase a pizza and they saw how they were made and cooked. They have already asked me if I can make them like the ones in Italy, not sure they would eat them though. We ate at Il Faro Restaurant, lovely food and a very friendly atmosphere and also at Valle Dehli Ulivi restaurant, but we weren't prepared for the FIVE courses that arrived, lovely food but we just couldn't consume all of it so we just enjoyed the lovely peaceful setting.

Could you thank Orazio for meeting and returning us to the airport, escorting us to the villa (we would never have found it on our own) and showing us around the local area? We also found another English speaking person, he works at the Launderette and was very helpful too. Please pass on our thanks.

Jay and myself would like to thank you for hiring the villa to us. It was the most enjoyable and relaxing holiday we have ever had. I have recommended Italy to my younger brother Simon and he may give you a ring for next year.

Thank you again.

Ms Jane Smither, September 2006

We very much enjoyed our holiday in your villa at Contursi. We were very pleased to be there the week Contursi celebrated a festival and we spent a couple of very enjoyable evenings up in the town watching the entertainment.

The villa was in an ideal location for us, an ideal base from which to tour the area, which we very much liked. My husband is convinced the villa has great potential. He would love to see the small swimming pool back in use and if he had had his strimmer on holiday with him, I am sure he would have cleared the football pitch!

We would very much like to return for another holiday.

Mrs Christine Chandler, August 2006

We had a great time thank you.

The property was really handy for seeing all the sights with the added advantage of being slightly off the tourist trail therefore giving a real slice of Italian life.

Orazio was really helpful in pointing out all the various thermal pools (which were great) and the best places to eat.

We were really sad to leave and wished we could have stayed for another week. I would have no hesitation in recommending your property.

Mr Kevin Leake, July 2006

We very much enjoyed our stay in Contursi - and like you said, it was real Italy.  We drove down the Amalfi coast one day but couldn't wait to leave!  We really enjoyed getting back to a nice quiet place like Contursi.   It was totally mad along the Amalfi coast.  We have already decided to go back to Contursi because we enjoyed ourselves so much and there is so much that we didn't see.  Maybe next Spring or Autumn I think, when its a little cooler than June, but we'll let you know as soon as we've decided.

Please thank Orazio for us, and his friend who so kindly rushed out to let us out of the gate (I don't know if Orazio told you, but we locked the door and left the key inside but had forgotten to open the gate so were trapped!).  We were already late for the airport so were a little frazzled when we realised what we'd done!   Also, our thanks to Orazio for taking us in to Naples and waiting for us - what a terribly long, hot wait he must have had because he couldn't find anywhere to park where he could leave the car safely.  We really appreciated it though because getting used to the roads in Italy was one thing, but I don't think we'd ever dare negotiate Naples!

The property was perfect for us - quiet, peaceful, gorgeous views, spacious and clean.

Jacky & Ian Wilkinson, July 2006

We had a wonderful week in Contursi Terme. The farmhouse was like a home away from home, it was comfortable and had all the mod cons needed. The local countryside provided us with the peace and tranquillity we were after. We really liked the scenic views from the windows over the valley and the fact that an operating farm was opposite kept my son entertained no end (along with the friendly neighbours).

We enjoyed touring around the local region and getting up to the Amalfi Coast and down to Paestum. The natural beauty of the region is something that we really appreciated.

A final and most important thank you goes to Orazio who has such a warm, gracious and welcoming personality. We appreciated Orazio meeting us in Naples and escorting us to the villa, in addition to showing us where the local grocery shop, butchers etc was. This really helped us to get established in the villa and made us feel welcome. We also enjoyed the visit to Orazio's farm, and enjoyed the fresh veg and honey Orazio generously gave to us. Orazio is a fine ambassador for the village of Contursi Terme and your business. We can't thank him enough for making our holiday truly memorable and for going the extra mile to make us feel welcome.

The best part of the holiday was that our 15 month old son came home saying Ciao, Ciao!! So Italy really made a wonderful impression on us all and we will recommend your villa to our friends at every opportunity.

Ms Lisa Blackham, October 2005

The villa in Contursi was wonderful. The house is beautiful and the grounds were lovely. The house was roomy and comfortable for the six of us and was pleasantly cool even during the heat of the day. It was only a few minutes drive to the autostrada, which was very convenient for travelling. I would highly recommend the villa for anyone who is looking to stay away from the city but wants convenient access to the highway, especially for a large family or several groups of people.

Mr and Mrs Amir, July 2005

Just to confirm that we had a fabulous time in Contursi this week. Orazio was the perfect host - leaving us to our devices though we knew he was available if we needed him. A wonderful part of 'proper' Italy. Despite the fact that we speak little Italian we got along fine and everyone was very friendly. Not sure I can face supermarket pizza anymore though. Thanks again.

Mr Andrew Burdett, June 2005

Just a quick few lines to thank you for introducing us to the delights of Southern Italy! As you know, we went with the idea of "doing" the Amalfi Coast but with so much breath-taking scenery inland and the wonderful beaches and pretty coastal towns and villages of Cilento right on the doorstep, we were spoiled for choice. As for the villa, it is no wonder you were so confident when you told us simply, "you'll like it". We loved the seclusion and privacy offered by it's countryside location but had the convenience of the village within a short drive. It really does give off a feeling of opulence as you drive through the private gates and is so spacious and relaxing that we would have been quite happy had it rained for the two weeks! It might be worth passing on a few words of advice to first time visitors. Firstly, try to go when the spas are open - we didn't and feel we missed a bit of pampering! Secondly, don't try to do too much. There is so much to see and do that you can get a bit over-stretched. With the benefit of hindsight, this is not the area to go to as a "one-off" and not only will you need to go there more than once, you'll want to. We certainly will. Two final comments. Driving is no great problem out there, just do what the Italians do - chill out and smile and it's easy. Lastly, please extend our thanks and best wishes to Orazio for his behind the scenes help and advice.
