In addition to the more conventional restaurants, there are a growing number of ‘aggriturismos’, which have recently taken rural Italy by storm. Started around 6-7 years ago, they are run by a farmer’s family. They serve dishes prepared using only ingredients grown on their own farms or bought from local farmers. The produce is seasonal and organically grown. They offer very traditional local dishes within set menus at set prices, normally around €20 per person. There are two aggritisimos in Contursi. A typical meal would include:

First course - seasonal barbequed vegetables with local farmhouse cheese, salamis and hams.

Second course - two different homemade pastas served in different sauces.

Third course - mixed barbequed meats (lamb, veal, chicken, pork, fish), served with Italian dressed salad.

There are also many pizzerias in the local area. They all offer excellent pizzas at incredible value for money, €3 - €10.

O'Panuozzo Caliendo Pizzeria

The O'Panuozzo Caliendo probably serves the best pizzas in Contursi. You can choose your topping and then watch them prepare and bake your pizza while you wait. It offers a takeaway service only, but is incredible value for money. It is situated within Contursi itself, just off the main piazza.
Vecchia Taverna Restaurant

The Vecchia Taverna is a stylish and extremely popular restaurant serving generous fish, meat and pasta courses while offering amazing value for money. It is located within 10 minutes drive of Contursi.

Valle Degli Ulivi Restaurant

The Valle Degli Ulivi is a traditional farmhouse restaurant set in beautiful Italian countryside. It is located approx 1 mile from Contursi.

Paradise Restaurant

The Paradise boasts an extensive menu offering everything you would expect from a good Italian restaurant. It specialises in a huge range of fresh fish, but also serves many typical Italian pasta, meat and pizza dishes. It is located approx 4 miles from Contursi.
